A Christmas classic at our house!

We love the first segment with Joan Collins!
Love the cheesy early 70's decor.
Love that Christmas Music throughout the story.
Joan Collins looks classy as always.
Add it to your Christmas time viewing list.

I didn’t know about this movie.

But I loved the tv show.

It's a fun anthology movie. The other stories are good too.
I remember seeing this at the Drive-in back in the 70s along with another one by the same film makers. That one is, Vault of Horror. Very much like Tales From the Crypt.
a few years ago I found the DVD set at Walmart.
Until today, I didn't realize that this segment with Joan Collins was on YouTube. I am happy to see that it was and I hope you enjoyed it.
Happy holidays to you and yours.

I enjoyed it very much, thank you for the link. Joan Collins looked magnificent in it.

I found out in the YouTube comments that there was a remake of that segment, in American Horror Story but don’t know which season.

I stopped watching it in the middle of the haunted hotel season with Lady Gaga, so it must me after that as I don’t remember that scene. Unless it was in the asylum season, they had a crazy Santa there, so it might have been shown in the flashbacks. But I forgot about it as I watched it once ages ago.

I wish joyous holidays for you and your family. :)

Thanks for the info on the segment in American Horror Story. Apparently, I didn't get that far into it either. 🙂

You’re welcome! 😊

And thank you once again for introducing me to the original.

I found it.

It is in AHS: Apocalypse
it is the latest season, I think Joan Collins even recreates her scenes from the original. It’s really cool that she is in both versions.

I will look it up on YT and post the link here if I find it, maybe someone uploaded that segment there.

Great! Thanks!!

Don't forget it was also remade as an episode of the HBO Tales from the Crypt series with Mary Ellen Trainor and Larry Drake, directed by Robert Zemeckis. That one is good too in its own right, though it has less of a comfy traditional Christmas feel with hymns as it relies on American pop Xmas songs instead.

I remember seeing this on Fox Movie Channel about 15 years ago, I was 9 years old and a huge Crypt fan. I caught it during the Monkey Paw story and saw the infamous intestines shot. When I got the VHS shortly afterward it was the PG-rated cut without that shot, and that was the only way I saw the film until recently when I got the awesome Scream Factory Blu-Ray.

I loved the Tales from the Crypt series but don’t remember watching that episode. I’ve got to rewatch it again. Thanks for the info. :)

Actually I was thinking when watching the original segment that it’s a shame it is only 12 minutes long, that it would be interesting as a longer story.

the season is almost upon us

Even though that one story takes place at Christmas, I won't be watching it then. I consider this movie a horror movie straight and foremost. Must see movies at Christmas are A Christmas Carol (different versions), A Christmas Story, The Santa Clause, It's a wonderful life, Home Alone 1 and 2, and Miracle on 34th Street.
