R, why is it rated R?

Why is this movie rated R?

I rock!!!!!

reply

it was rated 18 in the uk for drug dealing and mild language.
i would imagine that was the same reason it was rated R in the US, and i can understand if it is. I probally wouldn't want my children seeing this.

reply

thanks a lot

Yeah, why's it rated R. There's nothing wrong with showing somebody snorting cocaine at random moments throughout the movie ^-^

reply

NUDITY, Remember the scene in the bathtub and the scene with the white woman, in her apartment, in the see thru dress with nothing underneath.

reply

That see-through dress was scary...I almost lost my lunch!

reply

C'mon now you shouldn't even have to ask why it was rated R.

"Ok Honey, lets takes the kids to the movies tonight...ooo this looks like a good movie, big pimp guy who snorts coke, tussels with bad guys, and curses crazily"

C'mon now , you should know better.

reply

Yeah, the sex scene in the tub is as explicit as you can find without being totally explicit.

reply

I'm not a movie sex scene fan, but I must say this movie's sex scene was the most tastefully done scene I have ever viewed. Like the DVD commentary says, the scene was done in "real time". If you think about it, it was really quite amazing.

reply

Yes, it's very vivid, indeed quite unforgettable.

No sht! I mean what would you expect with a movie with a drug dealing theme and that features sex in a bathtub and a slew of "f" words, a "G" rating?

... geez

reply

Because you're an idiot.

And no, you do not rock.

OK. I'm gonna sound like the MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America) on this. "Superfly" is Rated R for pervasive drug use throughout, language, sexuality/nudity and some violence.
