Questions + Discussion (Spoilers)

I had SO many questions after watching this that the film left completely unanswered.

Where was Peter hiding the bodies? (Was he burying them outside in his garden?).

How many people had he killed and how long had he been doing this?

Why was so much emphasis made on Brenda's mother and the police looking for Brenda if it was to come to no conclusion? Was this just to throw us off and make us believe she would be saved?

Do you believe he DID kill Brenda?

Do you believe he would have murdered the child?

What happened in his life do you think could have caused his hatred of beauty? It seemed to me that everything in his flat WAS beautiful for the time (his rug, his sofa, his decor). Do you think the "story" he told Brenda was true?

He could have disposed of them in many ways. I don't see the relevance myself in what he did with them.

The flashbacks showed us he has killed any woman that loved and admired him for his beauty so it would stand to reason he had killed many times.

Brenda was her only child and didn't want her to leave in the first place. Brenda said several times she was worried about her mother. I think it was just to emphasize a mother's love. Her mother,Brenda's desire to be a mother and Peter's love/hate thing for his own mother. Notice how many of the women he was with were older?

Do you believe he DID kill Brenda? Yes,I believe her killed her.

Do you believe he would have murdered the child? No idea, probably considering he is completely insane!

He was tired of being only loved for his beauty. That was why there was so much emphasis made on the stories and fairy tales and why he always killed women that were pretty and that thought he was beautiful. I also thought there were several clues to suggest he had been molested by his mother.

1. How Peter disposed of the bodies is of "relevance" because that was crucial to the believability of the story: the women could not have just vanished. It was not like he was living near the woods or in a remote area where he could move or bury bodies without being noticed. There appeared to be one scene where Peter was shown burning something - possibly a body. That would not a satisfactory method, though.

2. Other than Caroline, there are flashbacks showing about three other women. I doubt he had many other victims, since he appeared to be sloppy in his methods. He did not prevent the women from leaving until he was ready to kill them, and in the film both Caroline and Brenda could have just walked away earlier.

3. While not shown in the film, the clear implication is that he killed Brenda with the unborn child. He no longer allowed Brenda to leave the house, and one could not imagine her being held there for some nine months there before giving birth

It seems he buried them in the garden. In the scene where Brenda is returning from the hairdresser and goes upstairs, he comes in from the garden, then washes his hand which we can see are dirty.
