I got one from a UK seller on ebay for £7.99 including postage. This was in December 2007.

I found it just be entering 'The Stone Tape' into the search box on ebay homepage.

I was guessing the guy lives in the U.S. where it is not available, but I could be wrong..

I have an amazing quality, fully uncut copy of this stunning film on DVD and would be glad to part with it for $12 (which includes postage to anywhere in the USA). Feel free to contact me if you are interested.

I do live in the U.S., but I have a region-free DVD player. But the GOOD UK DVD release from the BFI with extras seems to have disappeared off the face of the earth unless you want to pay thorough the nose for it.

Go to Criterion and ask them to work on Satyajit Ray films, a good Kwaidan rerelease.

Sans extras, I bet though.

It was rereleased on DVD in the UK a few month back, apparently it's a direct port of the old BFI transfer and comes with the commentary track that was included on edition.
