Just watched this, oh man!

How is it that more people haven't seen this and talked about it?! This was so great. I have always loved old sci-fi, fantasy, some horror/thrillers. Grew up watching old BBC stuff, and I just can't get enough. I love the Quatermass miniseries and movies, and while looking online I saw this mentioned. I tracked it down, and feeling brave enough to watch it in the middle of the night, I turned it on. Grabbed my attention and never lost it for a minute. We NEED more movies like this nowadays. I'm only 26 years old, but to me this stuff seems timeless. Most stuff in the theatres can't hold a candle to this.

Sorry if I'm gushing over this so much, it's just that it was refreshing and really good. Can anyone else recommend some films in the same vein as this?

Love your channel too pamfino1927 gotta lot of the out of the unknown episode's myself and the journey into the unknown one's too. Some other suggestion's for horror/sci-fi show's would include thriller boris karloff and the bbc ghost stories for xmas which ran from the 70's to the early 80's and have been reprised on bbc 4 last 3-4 years.

Pam, the Youtube notice says your account has been terminated for Copyright reasons. Damnit! Good thing I have a digital copy of it still.

im 27 and really glad i stuck with this movie, the first 5min almost put me off. its a great idea that would still work today. its cool to see a group of people not running at the first sight of a "ghost" and to see a group of non-ghost hunters try and experiment with it :)

someone actually suggested the pit and this movie second. i prefered this though. so ahead of his time RE data storage! and would still work, imagine a multi billion dollar data company finding out we can store data in some minerals and play it back just via our minds :)

I purchased a copy of The Stone Tape online - it's been delayed five times, so it had better be worth it! (But since it's Nigel Kneale, I'm sure it will be.)

Nigel Kneale also wrote one of my favourite short horror stories ever, Minuke. Seriously creepy and scary.

Grayseph,

I got a copy (pretty bare bones too) from Sinister Cinema.
One or two glitches but completely watchable on Region I
players.

BTW,

If you're still out there, PAM" please respond with any ideas
on how we could get more Kneale projects out there on DVD.
I just re-watched Stone Tape at midnite local time and how I'll
get to sleep tonite who knows? Would love to hear from you.

This movie was horrible, the best thing about the movie was the idea, but it's the execution of the idea that I'm rating. Maybe this is how normal people act in 1970 England, but in turn of the century America, this film's interactions were entirely unrealistic. A prime example is the uniform disbelief of the character who was established to be hypersensitive to the same supernatural activity they all experienced to lesser degrees (because they were less sensitive to it). If she says there is still something more, then why would anybody, or everybody not believe her. Especially if the reward would be that technological break-through they so desperately wanted?

PLEASE PEOPLE, STOP OVERRATING GHOST STORIES.
