This movie triggers memories for me.

When I was a kid, my dad took my brothers and I to Manhattan to see this movie on a Sunday morning. He was adamant we see due to the fact this was the era of Black exploitation films.
The last scenes between Winfield and Hooks bring tears to my eyes. My dad passed away a few years ago.
Thanks Dad.

I felt the same way! Such an amazing film! Loved the story, characters, outstanding performances, earthy, slice-of-life direction cinematography. The love of family here is so touching (if only my "family" was even a fraction as good, loving, kind, dignified, etc.!) No matter how many times I watch this movie, it is a worthwhile, awesome experience. Thank you for sharing!
