I saw this when I was 9, alone at night. Big mistake

When I saw this movie one night on TV in 1972, I was a 9-year old latch-key kid - alone from the time I got home from school until my mom got home from work around 10 pm. I remember those demonic eyes glowing through the curtains freaking me out so much, i couldn't finish the movie. I turned on every light in the house. And for the next week, I avoided looking at my windows at night. I was petrified I would see Satan's eyes peering in at me and then he would smash his way in and drag me screaming to hell. I was convinced if I saw anything, I'd die from fright, right there and then.

I haven't seen the seen the movie since, but I'd love to, just to see how it holds up. Plus, I'd like to see how it ends.
