No Dogs Allowed - Or Birds

I started thinking, why be so specific, only 'dogs and birds' not allowed, but other animals are?

Why not just say 'no animals' or 'no pets'.

So, squirrels, cows, horses, kangaroos, monkeys, bats, rats, mice, tarantulas, lemurs, wolverines, skunks - all are allowed, but not dogs and birds?

It makes no logical or rational sense to ban just TWO animals, when other animals would be so much worse in whatever way dogs and birds would be bad in a hospital, library or such place.

I think pets are mostly not allowed for a few reasons:

- noise
- smell
- disruption
- unpredictable behaviour (after all, they're animals, and their handlers usually don't understand animal psychology, which creates severe problems, and then the handlers blame the animals)

I don't think the other animals I listed (among thousands of others) are much less of a nuisance than dogs or birds would be.

So basically, it makes no sense to have such a sign.

Has anyone ever seen 'No dogs or birds allowed' sign ANYWHERE in the world?

reply

wow this is spot on as they say big NO to any signs not allowed
