IBM punch card?

I get that Slaughter's parents were mixed up with the Mob but exactly why were they killed? I remember some mention about computers and Slaughter's sidekick even goes to check if the casino had enough power to run a computer (LMAO at that!) but what was the deal with the IBM card Slaughter shows Mario? And does it tie in to the Treasury Agent's mention of it when he arrives at the airport near the end of the movie?
