2 Edits - Spoilers

I saw this movie two times and really enjoyed it. It focused on survivors of some catastrophic event that traps passangers underground in the subway system. The real tease was, "what happened topside?" Earhquake? War? The cast ponders and the audience is left in suspense but it is never revealed as to what actually happened. Years later I saw the movie again and this time it had additional footage showing that a terrorist group had bombed several location in NYC, therefore trapping our cast in the subway system. Two problems; First, it took all the suspence out of it and second it didn't explain why the tube under east river started to leak since they didn't bomb the east river. Strange! It's as if the footage was added as it didn't feature any of the original cast or location (kinda like the additional footage of "Earthquake" for it's TV network premire). Any thoughts?

That's pretty much the way i remember it. Initial showing - earthquake. The, at some later date, new footage added to make it terrorists. Stupid. Remember the hokey disco - the "Pigeon-toed Orange Peel"?

The same 'nightclub' turned up in another Universal film - something with Don Stroud and Tisha Sterling.

Other than that and a couple of the cornball characters (grungy Puerto Rican thug, stupid pregnant white chick), SWtD was a pretty good tv movie. I have not seen it in years

That nightclub was FIRST shown in " Coogan's bluff".
