Recommending Henry Hathaway's original

Several people have noted its similarities to BLOOD AND BLACK LACE and CAT O'NINE TAILS, but I was even more surprised that scenes at the beginning and end of this giallo are clear copies of Hathaway's near-classic of suspense 23 PACES TO BAKER STREET (1956)!
