Instrumental music

I realize that there is very little chance of my inquiry resulting in anything substantial, but I have to put it here. Is there any way to get the instrumental music from the movie? I have never seen a "soundtrack" for the movie but wonder if there is any other way to get movie music. There must be some way with all the technology that exists in the world to perhaps upload the film, make an audio recording, and take away dialogue/other sounds to just leave the instrumental music. Maybe I'm wrong.

Has anyone heard of anyone doing that? Or was there a soundtrack in the first place? Does anyone even know who composed or performed the instrumental music?

Thanks in advance for any help.

There was never a soundtrack album released of "A Separate Peace." Charles Fox composed the incidental (background music) and also adapted new arrangements of many big-band classics from the era, including "Opus One" by Tommy Dorsey (opening credits) and "Cherokee" by Charlie Barnett (snow festival sequence).
