1972 Version on DVD?

Is the 1972 version available on DVD?

No not yet I have been looking for years

I teach, and I can't find it anywhere. I'll even buy a VHS copy, if it is available. All I can find is the new version. Any ideas??

I don't know anything about how to get a copy of this version of the film, but I would second the motion that it should be produced on DVD and distributed. Does anyone know if an appeal to the producer/copyright-holder would have any effect? The production company was Paramount. (If a campaign for DVD production were to be started, I wonder to whom at Paramount would the appeal be addressed?)

If you want a copy of it go to amazon, but you can only get it in a VHS form. You can also go on to library websites and find one there.

The best place to find the 1972 VHS version is on Ebay or Amazon. It most likely will never come to dvd.

I bought a bootleg a few years back that's in decent shape--perhaps just a tad washed out, color-wise. So it is out there. Sorry that I can't remember where, but it was online.

I found the VHS tape in a box marked FREE outside a professor's office. I snatched it right up and converted it to DVD. It seems a VHS conversion is still the only way to get it on DVD.
