Ever released in the UK

Hey, Does anyone know whether this was released in the Uk on video, or whether it was banned, or just never submitted?

I checked the BBFC website and they have a listing for it as a cinema release rated X in 1972. But it if it was released before 1984 on video, it wouldn't need a separate classification. So, does anybody know if it was ever released?
Thanks again.

No idea originaly, allthough you can pick up the DVD in any branch of 'Poundland' these days.

Yes, it was released in the UK on the Spectrum video label in 1983 and by Intervision in 1979. The Intervision tape is almost impossible to find, you may find the Spectrum tape appearing on ebay from time to time. Like exrentalvideos says, its also available on budget DVD release.

I'd like to know if the dvd is edited, too. There is a PAL version available but the ones I've seen are pretty pricey. I bought a videotape of this movie, but it was quite worn and the sound hissed all the way through. I saw a clip of this on youtube, and the picture quality wasn't much different from my tape, so I wondered if it was just transferred to dvd. I rather liked this movie, so I would like to see a restored version of it. Franco Nero is beautiful as always and Telly Savalas is a trip as the psychotic hillbilly!
