Fox Movie Channel is showing it!

Hooray! FMC has been resurrecting more and more TV movies, including "The Norliss Tapes", "Where Have All the People Gone", "Daughter of the Mind", "Tribes", and now "Sandcastles".

The odd thing is this: We had an icestorm, and the cable line was torn down. For seven days, we had only my videotaped film collection to provide entertainment. I decided to watch my ancient copy of "Sandcastles", which was filmed from network TV, late night, bad reception, but still beloved. It had been taped on a machine at least three generations before my current one (more than a decade old itself). Well, as soon as it started, I knew I had problems; white streaks ran through the image constantly, and it would not track, no matter how much I tried. I figured I'd have to throw the tape away rather than risk problems with my VCR. I truly thought I'd never see this movie again.

Then, this afternoon, I was looking for something to watch. One of my first stops is always a group of channels: IFC, TCM and FMC. When I saw "Sandcastles", I thought, "It can't be!" But, it is! Wheeeeeeeeeeee!

Bless you, Fox Movie Channel! I'm videotaping a new copy now, happily sacrificing "Lost" for it. Maybe more old favorites will follow. I hope it's "The Bermuda Depths"!

EDIT: It also will be shown from 3 to 4:30 a.m. (Central) Sunday, March 6!
