The Criterion release

“Rome is the city of illusions,” says Gore Vidal appearing late in the film, and Roma itself is a similarly fantastical compilation. It is Fellini through and through, so when the director pops up at one point and is questioned about his parade of prostitutes, drug addicts, and transvestites, presumably those unsavory characters not proper enough for an “acceptable” portrait of this great city, he stands strong: “I have to be true to my own nature.” http://www.cutprintfilm.com/blu/new-blu-ray-roma/
