What the hell is wrong with the DVD industry?!!!

This is a general complaint using the DVD release of this movie as an example.

This movie's original aspect ratio (according to IMDB) is 2.35:1. This has apparently been released in 1.85:1 aspect ratio!!!!

They do this all the time! They get away with calling it widescreen when they still do a semi-fullscreen.

HOW ABOUT RESPECTING THE FILMMAKERS US THE VIEWERS?!!! PRESENT THEIR WORK AS THEY ORIGINALLY INTENDED!!!

I can't imagine it would cost the DVD makers any more money to do this. Certainly not enough that adding a couple of pennies to the price will not cover.

Paramount would not do that! Do not believe what Amazon states on their specs. Check the DVD out and you will find its in its 2.35 aspect ratio. Just get the blu ray from Germany. Not much more and sure it's better quality.
