The Name "Aunt Martha"

The first thing that struck me about the character played by Lucille Benson was her name Aunt Martha. The reason being that there is another offbeat horror thriller SOMETIMES AUNT MARTHA DOES DREADFUL THINGS -

At first I thought it was just coincidence but then later in the plot of PRIVATE PARTS it is revealed that the story has transgender elements. There is also an element of this in SOMETIMES AUNT MARTHA DOES DREADFUL THINGS although not as strong as this film. Maybe the screen writers saw the earlier film and gave this character the same name as a wink to it ?
