I KNOW - I GOT CAUGHT INTO THE PLOY AS WELL!

Wow, its interesting to see that I wasn't the only one sucked in. I bought this movie down the Gold Coast, Australia from a cheapie shop. I live in Brisbane, not a tourist. So, I was looking through the DVD movies for sale shelves for $2.50. I saw the Pirahna movie and thought I will get it. As I know Pirahna is a classic B budget horror movie, I watched it's sequels of the film when I was a kid. So overall, I thought it was a good buy.

I took it home, pressed play and my partner and I started watching it giving it the benefit of the doubt... As the movie progressed, my partner says where is the scene with the woman on the floatie? I said, "Because it was in the Amazons, it will be coming up. It's a school camp and the pirahnas will come up soon.' BIG MISTAKE. Don't ever get this movie, whomever the manufacturers were - purposely ripped people off!

What they did is lure people into buying this. They trick you into seeing the cover version of a girl in bikinis sitting on the floatie and the pirahna underneath the water(similar idea taken from Jaws). This is the 1978 version of the movie cover Pirahna. Then inserted a 1972 version of Pirahna (which is a totally different movie). CHEATS! The 1972 version stars William Smith which is one consilation (starred in Eye of the Tiger (with Gary Busey), Every Which Way You Can (Clint Eastwood). Ahni Capri (from Enter the Dragon - Bruce Lee). Which entails a different plot line altogether.

I am dissapointed with what they did and shouldn't have deliberately ripped people off. I know it was only $2.50 but that is NOT THE POINT.

Over to you......

I got this movie as part of a box of 50 that I paid about $23.00 for. I really was not expecting much, considering that I paid only about 45 cents a movie. but I have to wonder about the title "piranha" when there is only one scene where you see any piranha, and that scene lasts only a few seconds. It was only after the first hour that Caribe tells the photographer lady that the natives have named HIM "piranha". I have to admit the ending was suspensful, but the amount of stock footage and unnecessary added scenes made the first hour difficult to endure.

I'm getting this flick in a 50 box set also, on eBay. After seeing heaps of bad reviews and comments on it, I'm actually looking forward to poking some fun at it myself :)
Well, that is one of my hobbies after all

Well, I hope you enjoy the rest of the movies in this box. Some of them are so bad they would make MST3K cringe. After I bought this set, it sat on the shelf for almost a year before I started watching them, then it took almost 2 years to watch all of them. I was trying to watch one per week, but some were so bad that I needed extra time in between to make my eyes stop bleeding.
