interviews/studio footage yes, computer graphics/space footage no

of course the DVD has both versions so there's no real problem, but each cut has something the other doesn't.

some don't like the interviews, they just want to watch them play. I on the other hand really like the interviews

I didn't bother with the real space footage as it brought more atmosphere to PF's compositions but the computer generated images were awful.

I just skipped to the interviews on the new version to watch them and watch the original for the music, plus the video in the original is actually tolerable and surprisingly good in places.

There are actually three versions of the movie. The original version is just the music, and is included as a bonus on the DVD. Then there's the "Director's cut", which features all of that silly Discovery Channel-type footage from space. But the version most of us grew up with is not on the disc...it features interviews, the live stuff, and does not feature the new effects. This is the version available from the old Vestron Video tape...I'd like to see this version included on any future disc.
