Lindbergh baby kidnapping...

Just saw this movie after wanting to read the book (but was unable to get it, since it's out of print). Wow, I wasn't crazy about this movie - thought it was boring until the end. But... so many interesting connections to Bruno Hauptmann and the Lindbergh baby kidnapping.

I haven't yet read much about the author, but I have to wonder, is this movie (somewhat) his commentary on the guilt/innocence of Bruno Hauptmann? From the drawing in the kids' room, to the baby near a window on the second floor, and showing the handyman on a ladder outside. ??? Just thought the connections were interesting.
