Showtime airing 'The Other Side of the Wind'?

I have heard a rumor that Showtime will be airing this movie, but no details have been given. Has anyone heard this or know where I can get additional information?

That information is a few years old and it never happened

Last I heard they're still working on it.

Apparently (reading between the lines) when Showtime's involvement was announced some opportunistic so-and-so (no idea who, precisely) came forward with a legal claim to the film that had to be dealt with - i.e. they had to be paid off (maybe). This took over a year for the lawyers to sort out to everyone's satisfaction. Peter Bogdanovich said in an interview this past spring that now that this latest pile of chickens**t was out of the way there is still at least year's worth of work to do on the film itself.

Another thing he mentioned was that for the first time they'd been into the Paris film fault where all the negative has been stored since the early '70s. Everything was in great shape - it had all been well taken care of, thank the Film Gods - but a whole mass of material Bogdanovich had never seen and never knew existed was unearthed and that it all had to be printed, evaluated, integrated, etc.

I gathered all this from wellesnet.com Have faith! It may still happen!

That opportunistic so-and-so is Beatrice Welles, who nearly destroyed Orson's original cut of Othello, and has prevented Chimes at Midnight from a North American home video release.
