Good book, awful movie

The music is just terrible and ruined the movie for me. Read the books a few months ago and I really liked them, but I can't understand why they would pick such awful music for the movie. The worst part was when Robert and Arvid are in the desert, I had to skip forward, just couldn't stand it.

The plot is interesting and moving (it's the book, essentially), but the movie is poorly executed. The movie is 3 hours long but cause it's way too slow, a lot of interesting bits have been left out.

The should remake it with better actors, music and pace.

i'm responding to an old post and you'll probably never read this but...you're wrong. i know opinions supposedly can't be wrong but somehow yours are. in every way possible. the use of percussion without any dialogue in the desert scene is a master class in the usage of music and image. and if I'm understanding correctly you want the movie to be shorter but with more interesting bits left in? what would those be? and if they're included wouldn't that make the movie longer than it already is? these two films are absolute masterpieces.

Just read all four books...excellent!

Watched both films...excellent! Slow, but that's how life goes.

But I agree...terrible music. Both films could have been so much better with a sensitive score. The aimless drum noodling was especially annoying. Not artsy at all.
