Don't watch the english dubbed version

I had the anchor bay dvd, but the dubbing screwed ip the film so much that a few years later when Shameless distributed it, I had to buy it again. This version had the Italian dub, with subtitles. I watch a lot of Italian films and mostly they are better in Italian, but here the the difference is day and night.

I've got the Shameless DVD too, and the Italian language version doesn't synch up any better than the English, in fact I'd say it's considerably worse. I don't know for sure, but from watching this flick a bunch of times I'd guess that similar to a lot of Spaghetti Westerns, it was filmed without sound and then post-synched, meaning that both the Italian and English language versions are dubbed.

Furthermore, It's quite clear if you watch carefully that several of the actors, including Barbara Bouchet and Thomas Milian are speaking English throughout. It was very common in Italian cinema where many foreign actors were used, for them to deliver their lines in their own native language, since it was all going to be dubbed anyway.

it doesn't make any difference if it was dubbed in italian, actually. aside from usa, all countries dubbed their films in the 60's and 70's. all of them. that's not an excuse to watch it in a languague which it was not conceived by the director.

Yup, it is terrible in English.
