In this film, there's a scene with Barbara Bouchet saying "A rose by any other name". Is that just coincidence or is it a reference to her being in the Star Trek episode "By Any Other Name"?

agreed. Still the Star Trek episode mentioned by OP was shot four years before which might make it a reference.
