Because all Hugo does is hover around in his Hellicopter waving at women. The 75 or so ( no where near 1000) cats are shown in a dungeon and are not really in the movie much. This movie is ridiculous and boring! A good movie to put yourself to sleep with.
The version I saw did have nudity in it.
Some of the same scenes are used over and over like the cats being fed!
I know, it's great isn't it. I don't know what took me so long to see it all.
It sure felt like a full 1,000 cats to me. That's the power of movies. The genius of illusion.
Dunno why, but it makes me chuckle. And well, basically, the whole film makes me laugh from start to finish.
I know, right? It was so boring! It had a great title and setup too.
Anyways, for science, I watched a 74 min version that I found on YouTube. I took a stopwatch and timed how long cats appear on the screen, as I attempted to skip the long shots of people's hands sifting through raw meat.
I got 6 minutes and 30 seconds, including the parts where the dude drowns a cat, random cat flashbacks the guy has when seeing the sun, and the little girl's cat licking her doll. Most of the time, cats are just sitting in the cage.
I have 8 cats and a crappy camcorder, and I'm seriously considering making a better horror movie than this.
