One of the greatest Italian crime films of the 70's ....

Underrated and rarely seen gem will hopefully get a US release sometime in the near future.
There is a beautiful Japanese dvd print in existence, however there is a major scene that was left out where a character is beaten viciously.
Hopefully Blue Underground or No Shame will release this classic someday.

'SPOILERS'

In the cut version there is a major scene cut out ....
When Carla Gravina's character Sandra is waiting for Tony at his apartment, three armed gunmen come into the place and it cuts.
The next scene is Sandra talking to Tony on the phone with obvious bruises and cuts on her face and body, but only one gunman remains in the house.

In the uncut print that I watched... after the three gunmen come into the apartment they end up beating the living hell out of Sandra! Smashing her through every glass or breakable item in the house until she cant move. Then in a dark comedic moment .. all three men stop and non-chalantly sit down, one picks up a newspaper and the others play cards.

I agree. This film certainly delivers the taut, gripping, and exciting goods. Alain Delon was first-rate in the lead. Richard Conte was likewise fine as a wise Mafia kingpin. Great get-down funky score, too.

Anyone know if the Thai DVD - which is 2.35 with apparently English soundtrack and removable Thai subtitles - is uncut? There are copies on eBay right now.

I may take the plunge - and then report back.
