Poisons to dangerous, let's use nukes instead

Ok so they didn't actually consider nukes, but the options they did consider for population control seem way more dangerous then the poison they were dead set against. Not saying poison is a great option, but here are the options they considered. Each one could have probably spawned their own specific movie.

Option 1: Introduce a disease targeted to the rabbits. Cause you know diseases never mutate and jump to other species.

Option 2: Trangendered rabbits. Or as the mother explained to the daughter. "Make all the boy rabbits a little more like the girl rabbits, and the girl rabbits a little more like the boy rabbits." Course then in a couple years there could be no rabbits anywhere. At least they could get a cool parade or something.

Option 3: Cause them all to generate massive amounts of hormones so they become huge and aggressive and (ok this one is way to stupid even for a movie, no way they would choose it (oh wait whoops they did go with this one)) Well I guess their thinking is that bigger means easier to shoot?

All of a sudden poison feels like the more responsible option.
