Fantastic movie!

I was only 5 years old when this movie came out and was shown on TV. Let me tell you, for an impresionable young child, it both scared the living bejesus out of me and it also intrigued me to the point of becoming one of my favorite and most sought-after films. I was fortunate enough to find the VHS one time, many years later. I have just recently found and purchased the DVD at Best Buy. A great movie that could easily be remade today with CGI. Too bad David Janssen isn't still alive to make a cameo....

Yes Yes Yes it is a killer film!

I Bought it not to long ago on a box set of 16 films at best buy!

I own over 400 horror films, and this is the type of film you watch on a rainy day, you know... Not tons of action, but well acted and a good little film!

Good Stuff!

Like your ZOMBIE ZOMBIE2 quote! thats another cool movie!

I do not agree. This movie was boring ,it was not scary and the makeup
was really bad. Typical cheaply made 1970's movie of the week crap.

reply

Just an FYI, this movie is included in a box set of 20 movies on 6 discs called "Chilling". It also has a lot of famous actors in early roles, especially Jack Nicholson. Good price for some pretty good movies!

I don't know why people like you who hate the ABC movie of the week watch them and then do nothing but run them down.
They have a following and if you think the movie of the week is crap then go watch the crap that is being run in the theaters.
These movies are only for the fans who recognize them for what they are.
Good clean entertainment.

I agree with the last post! There is a certain charm to the old made for TV movies. They are cool to watch! I've seen many I liked better than this one, but it wasn't so bad. I enjoyed it. That's what counts.

As a teenager during the 70's I grew up watching the ABC made-for-TV movies. And many of the Dan Curtis types were actually quite good for their time, and especially for TV. Remember "Trilogy of Terror"? Or "Scream of the Wolf"?

Both are excellent made-for-TV movies & I have them on my PC. They're not filled with cheesy special effects or CGI like many current movies are. You can't really compare them to actual movies b/c they were made for the small screen but they're have some great moments and have good acting.

Fantastic? I thought it was terrible no offense. The DVD cover was very misleading! I was hoping to see a huge looking werewolf; instead I got to see a very crappy looking wolfman. I’m glad I rented this.

The only thing scary about this movie was the rednecks lol.

Well, no, hardly "fantastic". Anyway, I'd be hard pressed to agree. However, it had some interesting parts. David Jansen and Barbara Rush were very good (Bradford Dillman was wasted in his role). But it did disappoint at the end.
Too bad. Still, it was entertaining.

What r u doing here? On my dvd box it says "Bradford Dillm". U know all the neat stuff about junk.

Let it be unsaid: insignificance is the locus of true increpation.

I see that the latest post about this, is Jan. 2008. We viewed this last night. It was in "50 MOVIE PACK, SCIFI CLASSICS" (12 double sided DVD's from Mill Creek.
$13.00, from Amazon. You can't get cheaper than that). I'm sure that a lot of them will be cheesy, but this wasn't that bad. What impresses us is, where do they
get the characters to play these parts ? They all look like stereotype Trailer
Trash or Retards, but they can deliver lines and act. Maybe they do Summer Stock.
We thought Barbara Rush was the most adorable thing in the South. Her name seemed familiar, so I Googled "images". She was a Hollywood Glamor Girl, years ago. Quite beautiful and still, in this picture, very sexy.

I just watched it and thought it was good fun. It was a little Soap Opera-ish but it was still good though. I felt bad for Louise at the end.

I was a child in the 70's and my family and I loved the scary movies of the week, that was when TV was still a lot of fun.
This is another great one, found it for a $1 too!! Love all of the 70's TV made horror.

To the original poster. I HATE/LOATHE cgi in movies... so if this was remade i'd hate the cgi they'd use to cut costs >_< blech!

and to the people that didnt like the wolfman thing going on and thought big scary werewolf. I was actually really happy when I saw it was a wolfman styled werewolf. I always liked that type/style. good choice in my opinion

Wow, didn't know the set had been out that long. Just ran into it yesterday, and can you believe it in these inflationary times, got the set for $10 at one of the big box stores. Mostly all groaners (love 'em!) but this one was a bit of wheat amidst the chaff.

Try watching it for the storyline instead of paying so much attention to the werewolf makeup. The plot of this movie was great.

I don't think I saw this when it first aired(I was ten then) but when I did see it I was scared. I did not watch these types of movies and feel for the characters back then, but now that I do, it makes the movie that much better. If it was remade with the same storyline, then that would be good. I did see over the Internet that a remake was being considered but I hated the ideas that were discussed like having the movie end like this one, but having a scary/jump scene at the end and making it far more violent.
