In real life Lee couldn't defeat Norris
Norris was a professional martial artist and Lee was just an actor with some knowledge in kung fu.
shareNorris was a professional martial artist and Lee was just an actor with some knowledge in kung fu.
shareI think Norris once admitted himself that Lee could beat him in a real fight.
shareOP are you serious?
In real life,Chuck Norris wouldn't have touched him.Don't get me wrong if Norris had've hit him he'd have known about it,but Bruce would have dodged and taken out his vital points before he knew what was happening.
There's a hell of a difference between a contact competition where you score style points for touching and street fighting where you are required to quickly ,brutally and with extreme prejudice take down and disable your opponent.
"Lee was just an actor with some knowledge in kung fu."
I have read a lot of dumb things over the years but this might be the absolute dumbest statement I have ever read. This would be like saying Michael Jordan was just an actor with some knowledge about basketball...after watching Space Jam.
Jim Kelly was also a world champ like chuck norris in karate, and he has admitted that NO ONE would could kick bruce lees ass in a fight he was just that good.
Portia Perez Fan
So what about that wrestler in school when he went to Seattle?
You are entitled to my opinion, whether you want it or not!!
I wonder if Chuck could have beaten Bruce in a BOXING MATCH. Chuck was bigger and weight divisions are pretty important in boxing and the limited rules like no kicks no elbows and no using your fingers for kung fu moves would reduce Bruce's effectiveness by taking away all of his advantages. Maybe at just boxing chuck would have the advantage?
shareOrdinarily, Chuck Norris didn't outweigh Bruce Lee by very much, probably by only 10-15 pounds. In Chuck's book (I think the title was The Secret of Inner Strength), he mentioned that the producers of Way of the Dragon asked him to put on 20 pounds of extra weight so he'd look more formidable as Bruce's opponent, so he deliberately put down a whole lot of pancakes, eggs, etc. at breakfast and put on 15-20 extra pounds for his fight scene with Bruce, LOL.
shareAs a troll attempt you should try harder I dare to say.

Hard to say, Bruce's image was that he was super-human. But we know the realities that he revolutionized a technique to fight and was lightning fast. However, he was only 140 lbs and too often, people take what they see on screen as choreographed fights as a true testament of their fighting ability. His lack of size didnt diminish his power but likely it would have affected his ability to take punishment. I do not wish to ruffle feathers or take anything away from a short but remarkable life, but I dont buy into the hype that Lee could beat anyone.
I believe it very likely he was among the best known martial artists of the time, but other methods would be more effective against one who strikes like Lee. Grapplers and wrestlers have the advantage once they get a hold of you, and many would endure a barrage from Lee but they would own him on the ground. This is not to say any wrestler could beat him, but I think the top say 20% or so would be able to beat him at least half the time. As for the OP, Chuck Norris is a very respectful man. I think he alluded that he could have taken Lee but I'd like to think he was honoring his friend and fellow student that lasted a long while and didnt want to diminish Lee's greatness (real or imagined) to satisfy his ego.

I love the myth of Lee. But no way in a million years could Lee have beaten Norris in a real fight.
I understand why people want to believe that Lee was what he was in movies but we should now know by things like the MMA and UFC, that Kung fu, with all due respect is just a fantasy "Wu shu" style of dance.
It's time for everyone to grow up.
