Not available anywhere?

I've seen Mark of the Devil 2, and while it's pretty poor and nowhere near as effective as the first movie, I'm surprised it has not come out on DVD, and even VHS copies of it are very rare. Wonder what the problem is?
For fans of Erika Blanc at least, there would be a reason to buy it, as she looks very good in it. The special effects are pretty unimpressive, though, especially in the scene near the end where a character is burned at the stake and a very unconvincing dummy is substituted...hmmm, maybe it's just not good enough for a DVD release!

A better question would be why does Hollywood keep re-re-releasing the same movies. Some movies get Special Editions, Ultra Editions, Superbit Editions, and even released in mulit-set Franchise Collections while hundreds of movies like this languish in obscurity.

Hardly seems fair.

It's all about the money, innit? I guess a movie like "Mark of the Devil 2" is pretty much fringe stuff with a very small fan base. Ask any big studio and they'll say there's no money to be made in the cult market, but they know that millions of fans of Star Wars, etc, WILL go out and buy every single "special edition" that they can churn out.

If ever you have a doubt just look at George Lucas.

IIRC he released two different digitally enhanced versions of the original Star Wars trilogy on VHS then, after swearing he'd never release the original un-messed with versions of the original to DVD, released 'em.

But, to be fair, using those movies as demos for ILM's CGI deptarment was a stroke of marketing genius.

The only DVD available of the film is from the Netherlands, actually, it's a pretty crappy one, made from a VHS-Tape in terrible shape. There seems to be a problem with the licenses of this film.

I believe that at last count, "The Mummy" the new one with Brendan Frasier had 7 DVD versions! I can't remember all of them, but there was regular screen, wide screen, deluxe, platinum, collector's and some others. This is what ticks off movie-fans! You spend $20 or more for a DVD and then they re-release it and expect you to buy it! Imagine getting a car and finding out that for the same price you could have gotten it with extra leg room or more trunk room?
I would suggest putting ads online looking for this movie on VHS or the rare DVD copy, otherwise keep hunting the flea-markets and garage sales!

I hope this gets released sometime soon on Region 1 DVD. You would think with all the interest in "Grindhouse" and "Drive-in" movies this would get released.

Theatrical Trailer is "42nd Street Forever! Volume 1: Horror on 42nd Street" DVD by Ban 1 Productions.

I agree that it's nowhere near as good as then first, but it's still good enough to warrant a DVD/Blu-Ray release. I figure there must be an issue with who owns the rights to the film. Surely one of the big horror Blu-Ray companies like Scream Factory, Blue Underground, Arrow Video, or someone else would've already released it if they could. I think that's why other films like the original Willard and Ben could never be released. I heard somewhere they were only even allowed to remake the original Willard by claiming that rather than a remake of the original movie it was just a contemporary adaptation of the novel it was based on. Whether fans want a certain movie or not there's nothing they can do if there's a dispute over who has the rights.
