The Last Exorcism

I have yet to see this but plan on watching it this week. Considering the subject, I recently saw The Last Exorcism... does anyone think it is perhaps taking a line from this documentary?

I just got back from The Last Exorcism, and I couldn't stop thinking about the similarities to Marjoe. The new film is absolutely "taking a line" from this documentary.

Last Exorcism's filmmaker definitely stated his homage to Marjoe in publicity. (Not so Leap of Faith, whose writer stole without attribution - and its director Richard Pearce was one of the cameramen on Marjoe! Shame on them.) I thought Last Exorcism used the Marjoe paradigm really well for its story, and the movie itself (aside from the final payoff which felt like farce instead of chilling) was very entertaining.
