Good God, this movie is mega retarded.

Okay, it's kind of a kick to see THE RIFLEMAN as a bad guy (and doing the proto FALLING DOWN bits), and Neville Brand is always a scuzzy hoot... but good lord these cops are incompetent as hell.

Okay, I will give the movie a bit of slack, in that it is easy to think of what characters "should" do while watching a movie. Even so:

- why would they let Neville Brand go, as he still tried to rape a woman in a parking garage, and I'm sure they had the ability to lift fingerprints in 1973, and thus would have had his fingerprints from the hospital storage room, and thus could have charged him with the hospital rape regardless of the mute woman identifying him.

- speaking of the mute woman, if the cops knew she knew the rapist, why wouldn't they have her under suicide watch and maybe post a guard to watch over her?

- how did Chuck Conners know where Neville Brand lived to even bomb him to begin with? And how did Neville not notice the window being opened, as that would have let light in and ruined his masturbation festival?

- how did the 2 cops with the shotguns MISS Chuck on the motorbike, much less the 2 or 3 snipers on the warehouse roof? And how did he get away?

- why didn't the cops put his picture in the newspaper and warn everyone? And how did Chuck get anymore dynamite after they raided his apartment?

Sure, this movie has a decent chunk of nudity, and those 2 bits of grue (the school bombing and the finale)... but otherwise this is a PASS.

I may have missed something, but I figured they knew, and maybe could prove the rape stuff, but wanted the bomber so badly that they had to cut a deal with him in exchange for the info.

I couldn't figure how the main cop even knew it was him. He stole the bike, so it's not like they were expecting one, and that cop ID'd him from a mile away.

(the school bombing and the finale)

Speaking of which, was that bundle he bailed out of the van with supposed to set off a much larger explosion that he had to abandon? I can't figure he was expecting that little rinky-dink explosion that took him out from five inches away to cause all the devastation he was threatening them with?

Take Care
