Please, please, pleeeeeeeese! Can someone get hold of a dvd for me and I don't know how...just paste english subtitles on...I'LL PAY YOU!!!!

It's just been announced that there's gonna be a UK R2 release on June 27 of "Ludwig". Let's all look forward to it!! It's gonna feature some extras as well!! :)

It's already available for preorder at Amazon.UK!! 2-disc!! :D

Yeah, but all the info suggests that this is a 4:3 transfer. Not good.

I just got my copy of the UK DVD today!! From the back of the cover, it says 2.35:1, however this is indeed a letterbox transfer... We can see 2.35:1 alright, but all within the size of 4:3. :(

I have both the Japanese + German release of the film, yet none of those 2 have any English subtitles so it has been a quite painful viewing experience. At least this UK version has good non-burnt-in English subtitles!!

You need to adjust your TV. My disc plays out widescreen, 2.35:1 just as it says on the box.

I got my DVD (English subs) from xploitedcinema.com, it's great! I love this film, Helmut Berger really suprised me pleasantly...although it's a little short of the greatness of "The Damned".

What the above poster said (albeit years ago) is true. If you plan on watching the Infinity UK dvd, be prepared that is it NOT ANAMORPHIC. Also the transfer itself leaves a lot to be desired:

Koch Realising will get it out in R1 in October. No mention if it'll be dubbed or subtitled, or both, but hey, that,s good news anyway.

The copy I bought here in the UK is from Infinity Arthouse, the restored version in Italian dubbing with English subtitles,aspect ratio: 2:35:1.
