Other excentric de facto powerless rulers

Any one remembers any exemple from history?

Sure, Mussolini after Hitler sent the German army into Italy. Mussolini was rescued and Hitler set him up in his own make believe mini-country for a while. A political parellel here?

most rulers who for whatever reason are deprived of what "should" be absolute power end up being viewed as somewhat eccentric. I suppose they have to find something else to fill their time.
Richard II of England would be my contribution.

Eccentric rulers and powerless rulers are two different categories of rulers. They do overlap but many powerful rulers were eccentric and many powerless rulers were boringly normal.

George III of England, Empress Carlotta of Mexico and Joanna of Castile were pretty eccentric, and there are movies about all of these (The Madness of King George, Juarez, Mad Love). Like Ludwig, Edward II of England was deprived of his power, and he shared Ludwig's appreciation of the male form. Don't know if you could call him eccentric, though.
