Does a tape or DVD exist anywhere?

Been looking for this movie that I remember from my childhood.
Has there ever been a release?

reply

its never been released which is a real shame as the more recent TV movie based on the babara mackle kidnapping '83hours unitil dawn' or whatever its called gets all of the press. that said there was some dude selling copies in ebay for 20bucks.

Seems that guy got shut down. They have a website, but won't respond to email, so I don't think I want to risk it.
It is ashame that the studios just abandon their old product and everybody goes for nothing but new releases these days.

reply

totally.

especially given that US TV movies of the 70's and early 80's are amongst some of the most fun to watch stuff I have ever seen.

although its not the same as watching the movie, you can learn a lot more about this true story by typing 'barbara mackle' into a search engine.

There is a guy on ebay selling it on VHS for $9.99. His name is goodjazzpiano. I purchased one last year. There's also the remake called 83 Hours 'Til Dawn available on DVD, although it's not as good as The Longest Night. You can still pick up a copy of the book by Barbara Mackle, called 83 Hours Till Dawn on ebay from time to time(notice when doing a search, the word "Till" is spelled like this in the book and like "'Til" in the movie.

I recently purchased a DVD of this movie from Cinefear. It is a good copy and definitely worth seeing.
