The soundtrack

One of my favourite films!! (Lisa, not House of Exorcism)

But does anyone know of how to get the soundtrack? The music for some of the love scenes is "Concierto de Aranjuez" by Rodrigo, but you can buy that easily. I'm looking for the movie's original incidental music and the fantastic lounge-y opening theme song that recurs several times during the film...any got it or been able to rip a transfer of it somehow?

Look on the Internet Movie Database Full Cast and Crew list and look for the composer of the music score. Then Google that name and search music stores, used music, ebay or other sites online where they might have the music for "Lisa And The Devil".

Thanks I now know the composers name - Carlo Savina. I also found there is no chance of a CD release - this link has more info if anyone is interested:

But amazingly the main there is now finally available as a bonus track on another CD - the soundtrack to "I Vampiri"

I may be mistaken but the score during "Lisa lying by the skelton" scene sounded very much like the instrunmental version of "Wind of Change" by Petula Clark.

I couldn't find any soundbites so I'm just going by my recollection as a kid. I wonder if Petula came first or the movie.

reply

Yes, I listened to it and this is the same music, because "Wind of Change" is actually a reworking of Rodrigo's "Concertio De Aranjuez" with modern lyrics by songwriter by Rod McKuen. She sings it very nicely.

Just so everyone knows, the title sequence song is called "To Mirna" and is available as a bonus track on the soundtrack for I Vampiri. I believe it's available through Amazon MP3.

Sadly no download available, just a "rare" copy of the Cd for $65!!

I'll stick with playing the DVD :(

reply

That sucks. I downloaded my copy through Itunes years ago. Maybe the publisher's distribution rights have expired. Some of the other Bava scores are still available as digital downloads, though.

I loved the Concierto de Aranjuez used in the film and was most pleasantly surprised to find it was Paul Mauriat's adaptation of the Rodrigo music for the film.

Movement ends, intent continues;
Intent ends, spirit continues

I've now heard the "To Mirna" track on the "I Vampiri" CD and to my disappointment it's the version taken from the middle of the film (during the dream), rather than the version played in the opening and closing credits, which is a real shame. Looks like the main theme version is unavailable.
