Hold On to the VHS version of Lisa and the Devil

First of all, ignore the butchered version, HOUSE OF EXORCISM, which is actually a heavily edited version of LISA AND THE DEVIL to redo the movie of Lisa as a possessed victim.

Buy the VHS or DVD version of LISA AND THE DEVIL.

Now why is the VHS version valuable? The VHS version has the deleted scenes of Lisa's chloroformed rape and Sylvia Koscina's highly explicit sexual intercourse scene. It was almost X-rated. It showed everything which startled me since I did not expect to see such explicit nudity and graphic sex. Lisa's chloroformed rape scene, by contrast, is tame and is limited to showing her garments being removed and she's topless then Max kisses her. For some reason, the DVD version omits these deleted scenes.

What's the running time on the dvd
compared to the vhs?

reply

My version of the DVD (released on the Image label) has both deleted scenes.

reply

Yeah, they're on the old Image DVD as deleted scenes but unfortunately are not on the newer Anchor Bay DVD.

reply

Lisa's rape scene is. I haven't checked House of Exorcism for the other scene, but Lisa and the Devil has the scene where Lisa is chloroformed and essentially raped.

reply

I have the Image label version and both scenes are not on it. You must have a later release version.

I've noticed that the trailers for both Lisa And The Devil & The House Of Exorcism showed more graphic sex scenes than what I saw in L.A.T.D. (I've yet to watch the other movie), and I own both the old Image DVD and The Bava Box 2, so I'll definitely look into finding those apparently cut scenes. Koscina is so hot! =)

Oh.

Does anyone know if the laser disc was the same as the VHS or the DVD?

The German dvd has these scenes, also seperate from the film. nice dvd too, features 3 different language options, a nice slipcase and a full colour picture booklet. Those scenes with sylvia Koscina & Guido Manneri were pretty graphic! They didn't really belong, and would have cheapened such a beautiful film. Incidentally, did you know that Mario Bava did not film that scene? He refused to even be involved!

I have the VHS and on it - Run Time 116 Min.

The IMDB front page for this says the original run time is 95 minutes. I'm watching the movie on Primewire right now and its a 95-minute version. How long is the original movie?????
