Where can I get VHS?

There must be a VHS copy of this somewhere? Anybody know???

I've been looking for this movie for years. I'll take VHS or DVD and I'm confounded it has never appeared in consumable format. Not even sure if it circulated in American theaters. I saw it upon its release in a theater on Leicester Square. Every bit as worthy as "Travels with my Aunt" as a jewel in Maggie's crown. If you do happen across it, give me a heads up.
By the way, did you catch Maggie in HBO's "My House in Tuscany?" Charming as ever, a fine piece of work on her part.

I'm looking for a copy, too, on VHS (PAL for UK/Australia) or DVD (UK region), for my sister in Scotland.
All info gratefully received!

This rarely shown film is premiering on TCM TONIGHT (Sat. SEPT.4 at 1:30am eastern time; technically Sun. morning). I wish I would have posted this with SOME notice, but I had never heard of the film and just looked it up within the hour only to find sooo many people desperate for a copy or viewing of this film.

AT LEAST I TRIED!
GOOD LUCK GUYS, AND PASS THE WORD!!!!

Hi!
What a thrill to find others who love this film and are looking for VHS or DVD's of it! I've been looking forever. The film has great sentimental value for me because it was one of our favorite movies (my husband and me) going way, way back to our dating years. I even search for it to be playing on television and nothing! So sad. If you can let me know where I can get a copy, that would be great. Thank you in advance,

Becky

PLEASE whoever said they were getting a copy of this movie on VHS LET US KNOW WHERE! I also have been looking for this gorgeous movie for about twenty years. With all the crap out there, can you believe this movie isn't readily available?

Put me down as another who saw this film only once on TV many years ago. I have never forgotten the story and would love to have a copy of this film in any form. Maggie Smith is one of UK's most talented and popular actors. Why don't the "powers that be" mine the archives?

I should have mentioned in the above post that the only site I know where one can make suggestions for a DVD release is at www.criterionco.com under Suggestions and Feedback, "Ask Jon Mulvaney". A place is provided for suggestions which are always acknowledged by e-mail. If enough interested prospective buyers indicate their interest in the film, who knows?

It just amazes me when class films like this are not available in ANY format - and you see the dross that gets released on DVD every day..unless there is some kind of contractual problem/copyright issue..i just wish there was somewhere to find out ! By the way I thought Timothy Bottoms was excellent alongside Maggie in this one and just wish I had recorded it from the one showing i remember from tv...Another Maggie film "Travels with my Aunt" is as scarce as hens teeth and doesn't appear to be anywhere near getting released...Humph....

I've been looking for a copy too ~ and it's hardly ever on TV. I haven't seen it for many years, but it's a real favourite of mine, and I've found that those who have caught, it loved it.

Thirty years on, 'My House In Umbria', with Maggie Smith, gave me a similar feeling.

Hello, yes another old romantic here looking for a copy on video or DVD. I have had some success in obtaining old and out of production movies from Amazon.com, the USA part of the company. The odd thing is they were all region 2 DVDs and imported from Europe. E-bay can sometimes also throw up the odd gem.
In the meantime I'll just have to scan the Sky Cinema channel and TCM in the hope that this very memorable film will someday make an appearance again so that I can record it this time.

I keep hoping I will have a reply from you regarding the film, Love, Pain and the Whole Damn Thing. Last April you stated you have a copy of this wonderful film. Is there anyway that you would let me have a copy of the film. Obviously I do not expect you to do this for free. Please let me know what I need to pay for your time and effort. Many thanks, and I do hope I will hear from you soon,

Rick

Check out http://www.movielead.com/buynow.html. You can request the film online, and you'll receive a phone call telling you if it's available. They only provide films that have not been released on DVD or VHS. The VHS version is $35 and the DVD version is $40.

I saw it when it came out and have wanted to see it again ever since. Please let me know where I can find it - in the UK, preferably.

I don't think you needed to reply to every "where can I get this movie" post, especially the ones that are five years old.
