I've always loved this film ever since I saw it on tv when I was a kid many years ago. Own it on dvd now & love revisiting it from time to time. It's *still* creepy!
Is anyone aware of any other 70s docu'/ horrors in the same or similar vein as 'Legend...'?

Schick Sunn Classics produced many such Docudramas in the 1970's,one of which is The Mysterious Monsters(1976). Hosted by Peter Graves, it isn't bad, has a nostalgic value to it, though shows too much of the Bigfoot costumes. It is on DVD in a grainy, unrestored print, but it's better than nothing.
I would also recommend In Search Of... & Unsolved Mysteries, two excellent series in the same spirit, though they often took on other topics as well.
Locate and watch any of the UFO or spooky monster documentaries from the 1970's, at the very least they are fun though inaccurate. I spent years acquiring 16mm films and putting together my very own collection and still get 'em out once in a while for a good hoot. Mysterious Monsters is also my favorite of that genre and like the others I finally, after great effort, added a good print to the collection.
