For over 10 years all I saw was SHOGUN ASSASIN which I understand is a composite of the first two films. Well I got the box set of 6 last week and watched this 3rd entry last nite and it was every bit as incredible as the first two installments. I was so pleased as I was worried the saga may of gone downhill but I can see the same quality is going to stay. How about that ending where he pretty much goes against the odds? There seems to be no end of the surprises in this series. I cantw ait to watch number 4 tonight! Man its great watching thses for the first time as a newcomer! Trouble is, I dont want it to end!

I've seen the first one (I own it is well), and when this comes out in 6 days (march 20th) I will order it immediately. I really would like to watch the actual Lone Wolf and Cub series in its entirety, but I don't have 100$ to spend, therefore I have to settle with both Shogun Assassin films.

Seems to me like netflix has the whole series. I have just watched the first three LWC movies from them. So you don't have to pay a ton if you got that option.

I already own them all individually (if you haven't noticed, said post is quite old).

I got the boxset and am watching my way through the series, but this third movie was my favourite so far. I love the action finale with Lone Wolf & Cub going up against an army involving guns and explosives. I love the Spaghetti Western feel of the series.

But apart from the brilliant action finale, I also liked the other things going on. I did find the rape scenes uncomfortable, which proves they were doing their job right. I hated that one character helps out his despicable hired hand companions against innocent people, but he wasn't characterised as simply an evil character - instead it was a way of showing how lopsided a strict following of the Bushido code can be when applied without compassion or wider notions of right and wrong. Even Lone Wolf uses a dirty trick where he makes an enemy think that Cub is in danger, in order to put them to disadvantage. I appreciated the extra complexity of character and depth that this one had, as well as having some of my favourite action of the series so far.
