Best DVD Version?
I'm trying to find the best version of these films (besides the Blu-ray of Shogun Assassin). I have the Unit World Movie Inc. version of the first two. But is the new box set worth the money?

you will have to forgive the lack of full stops lack of proper spelling im dyslexic but not stupid
I just bought the new boxset from Eureka on amazon.co.uk. amazing quality!
"You're a funny man, Sully, I like you. That's why I'm going to kill you last."
Plus you get a reversable sleeve which has the super cool original Japanese movie artwork
shareexactly. I forgot to mention it.
"Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man."
UK box set looks soooo much cooler then the 2005 one available in america. Lame
sharenew US blu ray box set is coming out in September pre order price is $53.98 but i may wait this one out and see if eureka do a UK blu ray set as i liked the subtitles better on the eureka dvds

The AnimEigo set of the original films is great, as is their Shogun Assassin set. As someone else said, the UK set has the six plus Shogun Assassin but I understand the AnimEigo transfers are slightly better.
I have the AnimEigo blu of the six and it's better than the DVD but not a huge upgrade in the way some other blus are. There's also a blu set of the five which I've held off pulling the trigger on but dvdbeaver has god reviews.
Criterion is releasing a box set on Nov. 8 that includes all six movies plus the American release of "Shogun Assassin."
