Whatever happened to Daigoro
That little kid actor (Akihiro Tomikawa) is amazing as Daigoro. But it looks like thats the only role he ever played. Anyone know what happened to him? Why he quit making films?
shareI was also thinking about it. I "borrowed" both AnimeIgo versions from the LA Public Library (baby cart to hades and White Heaven) and Daigoro reminds me of my 4 year old nephew. Awesome dvd's, way better than the zatoichi dvd/kurosawa films----more blood, which makes it worth the watch.
I am sure that Tarantino had been influenced by the Lone Wolf series.
The scene in Kill Bill where the Bride chops up all the Crazy 88s in the restaurant is directly influenced by Lone Wolf & Cub. Also at the end of Kill Bill 2 her daughter goes to bed after watching Shogun Assassin.
shareJust watched the DVD here in the UK. It's the MagicArt release and has a bio about the main actors. Apparantly, the actor who played Daigoro didn't go into acting after Lone Wolf and Cub. He's currently serving a 3 year jail sentence as a result of trying to smuggle a gun into China or Japan (I forget which, so forgive for that bit!). However, that was in 2004 and he should have completed his sentence sometime this year.
