Anyone agree?

That Shogun Assassin is a piece of turd movie that should never have been made..
And also that Lone Wolf and Cub 1 - 6 are the greatest movies ever made.

i'd say that the first 2 of the series totally rule, the rest aren't really up to par.

shogun assassin is indeed pretty terrible.

Never watched Shogun Assassin because I found out early in researching that it was Lone Wolf and Cub Lite. Saying that I have seen the series, own it and have to say that it is the best 6 movie series of all time. Anyone who disagrees needs to show me a movie series that kept the momentum going throughout like this one cause I sure havent found it...Long Live Lone Wolf & Cub :).

Shogun Assassin is a good way to turn someone on it who normally wouldn't even consider watching a movie with subtitles.

I've seen Shogun Assassin, seen the first Lone Wolf and Cub movie and read the first lone wolf and cub book.

And I have to dissagree with you because my favourite out of those 3 is infact Shogun Assassin.
Though, I will admit that after watching the first Lone Wolf and Cub film it seems like a series that will continue to grow and I'll have to watch them all to decide truelly which is my favourite out of the 3 mediums.

But judging by the first book, the first film and Shogun Assassin for now, I'd pick Shogun Assassin.

My reasons:

I enjoyed it more, I liked Ogami Itto alot more, I found it more inventive, I got more out of it, after watching it I felt in a great mood and loved it and just basically thought it was more kickass, fast, furious and violent which is how it is in the books.

The idea of bunching a whole series into one film sounds bad...but it actually works so well

Nope. I love this series, it's full of brilliant stuff, but it's for from perfect. I feel like Shogun Assassin took the first two movies and made something perfect out of them. It's more than just LWAC-lite. The narration blows me away and adds an even deeper dimension to the series. The dubbing is great, the music is excellent, and the editing is better. It's different, and some good stuff got cut-out, but it makes a terrific gateway into the complete series. LWAC fans shouldn't feel dismissive toward it. It's a celebration of the awesomeness of LWAC. Think of it as the first Fan Edit.
