Shanghai Noon, The Revenant, McCabe & Mrs. Miller

I recently watched this movie for the first time.

I wonder if this movie was the inspiration for the scenes in Shanghai Noon where Owen Wilson was buried in the ground to his neck and the Native American chief marrying off his daughter to Jackie Chan.
*edit* This was also done in The Searchers, when the Martin Pawley character accidentally buys a Comanche wife.

Also, I bet this has been used in other movies, but JJ playing dead to get the jump on his attacker reminded me of Hugh Glass doing a similar thing to Fitzgerald in The Revenant. Warren Beatty had a similar scene in McCabe & Mrs. Miller as well.
