Help with a quote from the movie, please??

For some reason, one of my favorite quotes from any movie is from the scene when Jeremiah is talking about the eagle crossing the ridge, something like "... it would take me two days to cross that ridge .. but that eagle .. well .. he's there already." I hate to mangle a beautiful sentiment like that, that embodies a spirit that is near and dear to my heart, so if someone could write the exact quote from the movie for me (from the moment he looks up), I'd highly appreciate it!!!

Believe the line was "....mussel shoal...," not "mussel shell." Sedation is a broad highway.

It is actualy musselshell.
The musselshel is a famous river in Montana. also has a town named after it.
There are alot of mistakes in geography in that movie. The Cavalry says "This is the dept of Colorado" All the land marks mentioned are in Montana. The Musselshell. and Crazy woman creek named after the crazy woman in the movie are both in Montana which is where in fact the real Johnson spent most of his time.
I live in Montana and have been to the musselshell and crazy woman creek many times. Crazy woman creek is not far from the Little Big Horn where Custer got whacked. I have actually been in the real Johnsons cabin in Red Lodge Montana.
It was restored by the Montana historical society after being used as a garage for many years.
There was a sign that said to not enter the cabin but the attendant was a little old lady who was about 90 and when she wasn't looking I went in and had My girlfriend take pics of Me sitting on his bed and at his table.

I believe it went like this, "He's going for the musselshell, take me two weeks to get there...he'll be there in..hell, he's there already.

Close jppoe. I couldn't resist checking up on you ;)

"Hawk. Yeah...going for the Musselshell. Take me a weeks ride. He'll be there in...hell he's there already.

"What's the rumpus?"

Yeah, that's it. Great quote. My personal favorite is just 'GRIZ' when Johnson asks Bear Claw what he's hunting for. Then I love it when he walks off and goes 'come on'. It doesn't look like much in writing but it works brilliantly in the movie. They were men of few words. This is undisputably my favorite movie of all time.

I agree with another post that said the exchange between Will Geer and Redford toward the end is a favorite.

I love it when Geer says, "You've come far, pilgrim. Were it worth the trouble?"

And Redford answers, almost as an afterthought, "Huh? What trouble?"

Geer grins appreciatively.

After watching a show on the History Channel yesterday called "Mountain Men" I just had to break out my copy of Jeremiah. My favorite scene/quote from the movie, actually one of my favs from any movie, is just after Jeremiah meets Bear Claw. Jeremiah sees BC running down the hill thru the snow with a Griz hot on his trail, BC runs in the front door of his cabin and jumps out the back and says "You skin this one, I'll bring you anohter'n!" I just love that!
