question to those who have seen it (spoiler)

I was watching it last night on AMC at around 2:30am and i missed two parts of the movie. I missed what happenned after he led the soldiers through the sacred land to the camp of stranded civilians/soldiers/settlers. He came back through the sacred land and was staring at skeletons when he rushed back to the camp. I missed what happenned there but Im assuming the crows attacked the camp and slaughtered them all. I tuned back in to see the log cabin he had built was burned to the ground and his indian wife and "son" were missing. What the hell happenned to them?

reply

Yes, they were killed, presumably because he trespassed on sacred land.
He found the bodies on the floor in the cabin. You actually missed very little of the movie, but it was a climactic scene.

Are you going to pull those pistols or whistle "Dixie"?

reply

Yep, they killed them. He walks inside and finds the kid and then her. He doesn't lose it or start screaming or anything like that, but he goes into a shock where all he can do is sit there and stare blankly. It's very emotional. Later on he wraps them in blankets and sets the cabin on fire.

The love impulse in man frequently reveals itself in terms of conflict.
