Murder on the Horror Express

Someone told me that 'Horror Express' re-used sets from 'Murder on the Orient Express'. Kind of makes sense, except that the dates don't quite stack up - Horror Express - 1973, Murder on the Orient Express - 1974. Similar movies too - one features a vicious hairy frozen monster, the other features Albert Finney. Anyway, anyone else heard this set theory?

I have just watched the two movies back to back the theory just not stack up.
The train in Horror Express is mostly a model except when its at stations, and
even then looks pretty sorry for itself. While the train in Murder on the Orient Express looks perfect.Besides as you have wrote the dates don't work.

Have just seen Cassandra Crossing yesterday - all those train movies, they are all so similar :) also check Under Seige II.

Actually, Horror Express AKA Panic on the Transiberian Express used the models and interiors from the train featured in Nicholas And Alexandra,

You're half right. It didn't use the sets from "Murder on the Orient Express", but the sets were not from "Nikolas and Alexandra" as it has stated in the trivia section here on IMDB. The sets were actually from the last film the producer & director did together, Pancho Villa (1972), which also starred Telly Savalas.

Read the interview with producer Bernard Gordon here for the information:
