6.4? ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!

This is without a doubt my favorite horror film from the 1970's it really is creepy (creepier than the BS horror flix of today hands down) I know this is only my opinion but I've read alot of other comments and reviews and it seems everyone else agrees with me, who else thinks this rating should be higher than 6.4?

We can DO IT ALLLL DAY LONG, (We'll have to pay more for the light bill if we do it at night!)

Well, you know how it is on IMDb...if it is old, it sucks! It's a shame that so many people simply cannot appreciate the old classics. The second they see suspense instead of flashy effects, they fall asleep.

I agree with you totally. I have said before that most of these modern horror films are loud and bloody, but not necessarily scary, or creepy. I think this movie is very effective at creating an atmosphere of terror and fear. These two elements are greatly missing in today's horror genre. You can't be loud, and throw buckets of blood all over the place and expect to scare me. I may be grossed out, but not scared.

It has an above average rating. Anything over 5 is pretty good, honestly. Seems about right for this type of film.

so campy and hokey...and terrible visual fx and make up fx....reanimating the dead with white eyes was sooooooo hokey.

Agreed. There's something special about this one.

Genius script and fine acting. Three great actors at the heights of their respective careers. Simply because of the shoddy print, I'd give it an 8/10, but that's the very least, and only even then if I was threatened.

Horror movies of the 70's are the best. This one has Cushing, Lee, creepiness in spades, humor, zombies, a crazy Rasputin-like character, a claustrophobic atmosphere....and a wonderful score by John Cacavas. 10/10.
