High Plains Drifter or Josey Wales

Of the two 1970's westerns directed/starring Clint Eastwood, which is your favorite?

I choose High Plains Drifter because the story was more exciting and focused. I loved the music and film techniques from the camera angels, locations, choreography of the action scenes and editing.

Josey Wales is good, too, but the story wanders sometimes.

The Outlaw Josey Wales. So many great lines and humor with even better action than HPD.

Outlaw was better although I love both!

The Outlaw Josey Wales. More character development, but both are good

I lean towards Wales because there's more character depth. I do love the mystery around Drifter and how he fades in and out of reality. So many unanswered questions.

It's hard to pick, but Josey was a bigger movie with greater action & dialogue.

Drifter as Josey Wales wanders at spots as you said too much for my liking.

Josey Wales because of the rape scene in HPD. That part just turned me off.

Josie Wales. I am an old fashioned western lover and JW has some very distinctive good guys and bad guys. HPD has some very sleazy characters, especially the town people. You almost find yourself pulling for Stacey and the Cole Brothers to win. They are simply pathetic.
